Cowichan Sweater

Cowichan Sweater – Indigenous Heritage and Natural WarmthThe Cowichan Sweater is a stunning example of traditional craftsmanship, originating from the Coast Salish people of British Columbia. Characterized by its heavy, unspun wool and distinct geometric or animal motifs—such as eagles or whales—this sweater is a symbol of cultural pride and exceptional warmth. It is the perfect choice for those who value authentic, handmade heritage pieces that offer unrivaled protection against the cold.Crafted from raw, water-repellent sheep’s wool, this sweater is designed to keep you warm and dry even in damp coastal environments. The natural lanolin in the wool provides a protective layer, while the thick, hand-knit construction offers incredible insulation. Its generous fit and shawl collar provide a cozy, enveloping feel, making it an ideal outer layer for outdoor activities or a comfortable evening by the fire.Official detailing includes a heavy-duty zipper or traditional button closure and deep front pockets for utility. The intricate designs are knit directly into the garment, ensuring they never fade or peel over time. This is more than just a sweater; it is a piece of living history that combines natural functionality with timeless artistic expression.Product SpecificationsMaterial: 100% Natural Unspun Sheep’s WoolFit: Oversized Relaxed Fit for Ultimate WarmthCollar Style: Traditional Heavy Shawl CollarFabric Features: Water-Repellent and Highly InsulatingSleeves: Long Sleeves with Integrated PatternsDetailing: Hand-Knit Indigenous Motifs and Utility PocketsConstruction: Authentic Heavy-Gauge Knit Heritage PieceOccasions: Outdoor Exploration, Winter Wear, and Heritage Fashion
